CULTURE AND EDUCATION CONTEST

 

As an important center of spreading and publishing humanistic thought Culture and Education together with Wydawnictwo Adam Marszałek are the promotors of outstanding publications, which are comprised within the quarterly’s profile. In 2006 Adam Marszałek decided to make Culture and Education a place for discussion about young writers’ books and award them for the contribution to science. The endower of the award together with the editor in chief, prof. Ryszard Borowicz, set a contest for the best book on problematic aspects of culture, society and eductauion.


In May 2010 the winner of the 4th edition of this contest has been announced. We are pleased to announce another edition. The closing date for submissions is 15 May 2011. Conditions for entering the contest are described in Regulations ( link to Regulations).


We now present you the previous winners of the contest:
2007: Joanna Jagodzińska, Misterium Romantyczne.
2008: Arkadiusz Karwacki, Błędne koło. Reprodukcja kultury podklasy społecznej.
2009: Maria Theiss, Krewni – znajomi – obywatele. Kapitał społeczny a lokalna polityka społeczna.
2010: Bartosz Wojciechowski, Interkulturowe prawo karne. Filozoficzne podstawy karania w wielokulturowych społeczeństwach demokratycznych.

 

Regulations:
Regulations of Culture and Education contest for the best book on problematic aspects of culture, society and education:
• Submission of books can be made by individual authors as well as science and culture institutions.
• To enter the contest one has to send at least 3 copies of the book at the Editorial Office address.
• The overall winner will be selected by a panel of expert judges from Culture and Education Editorial Board and Wydawnictwo Adam Marszałek.
• The winner will receive cash prize endowed by Wydawnictwo Adam Marszałek. Judges reserve the right to withhold the prize or to award the book with honors.
• The proze is awarded to authors who have not turned 36 in the year when the book was published.
• The closing date for submission is 15 May 2011.
• The prize will be awarded at the Culture and Education and Wydawnictwo Adam Marszałek official session.
