One can notice the multidisciplinary profile of the quarterly in Editorial Board. It is a cooperation of philosophers, cultural experts, pedagogue and sociologist. Such compilation of scholars provides fast and professional evaluation of articles.

EDITOR-IN-CHIEF
Prof. zw. dr hab Ryszard Borowicz
Full professor since 1991, current employment: Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń and University of Economy in Bydgoszcz (previously an employee at Polish Academy of Sciences at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań). Scientific interests concentrate on sociology of education and youth as well as social aspects. He took part in several major research projects, for example longitudinal study (carried out almost 40 years) on paths of life of 7,5 thousand people. He is the author of several books: Selekcje społeczne w toku kształcenia w szkole wyższej (1976), Równość i sprawiedliwość społeczna. Studium na przykładzie oświaty (1988), Nierówności społeczne w dostępie do wykształcenia (2000), Kwestie społeczne: trudne do rozwiązania czy nierozwiązywalne? (2008) and more than a hundred of other scientific essays.
He has the experienced in various non-academic fields: an expert in Chancellery of the President of the Republic of Poland, the chairman of “Akcja Społeczna-Razem” association, the chairman of TV3 Program committee. He enjoys physical activities: tennis, basketball, squash and dislikes “unfair” contest with younger opponents.

Director of Cultural Studies Institute at the University of Economy in Bydgoszcz

Dr Agnieszka Jeran
Sociologist (Master’s and Doctorate) and an expert in science of commodities. She comes from Poznań. Her scientific interests concentrate on statistics and methodology. She uses them in research on information and consumer society, media and social needs as well as prosaic matters of everyday life such as gossips and autopresentation, which are very attractive for a sociologist. Her favorite pastime is tracking down/ following plots and visions of alternative societies in science fiction and fantasy literature, absurdities of polish railways, herbaceous plants of polish fields and forests as well as macro photography of those plants.

Dr Arkadiusz Karwacki
A lecturer at the Institute of Sociology at Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń. He deals with social problems (especially poverty) and the analysis of introducing concepts of social politics (research sociology of activating social politics). In recent years he has carried out research on the reproduction of culture of social subclass in Poland, relations between disparity in distribution of income and social problems, strategic planning in social politics, including standards of social services or cohesion problems within the framework of activating social politics. He is a member of PTS, ESa and member of PTSP board. Author, or editor of 10 books, for example: Zagrożenie wykluczeniem społecznym w województwie kujawsko-pomorskim… (2005), Błędne koło. Reprodukcja kultury podklasy społecznej (2006), Aktywna polityka społeczna z perspektywy Europy socjalnej (2007), Polityka aktywizacji w Polsce… (2008), Strategie w polityce społecznej (2009), czy Pluralizm usług społecznych w systemie pomocy społecznej i administracji pracy (2010). Author of almost 70 polish and english essays published in famous polish journals (for example: ‘Eastern European Countryside’, ‘Studia Socjologiczne’, ‘Polityka Społeczna’, ‘Problemy Polityki Społecznej’, ‘Kultura i Edukacja’) and prestigious foreign journals (for example ‘International Sociology’). Fan of sports: basketball, soccer, tennis. He enjoys sports competition with Culture and Education editor in chief .
