Kryteria wspólnotowości w Internecie

Piotr Siuda

Abstrakt

Social science researchers very often treat every internet tool or web page which allows profile building and communication with others as virtual communities. Researchers very often act solely on instinct, without any elear instructions. They are looking for virtual communities in places in which they do not exist. Scientific articles are based on repeated over and over pattern. Articles are repeating definitions which are very weak and blurred when considering analytical and empirical usefulness. One needs to show a elear, expressive criterions that will show which internet place is a virtual community and which is not. The goal of the article is to point out community criterions on the internet. To determine them is extremely important when discussing how Internet influences bond formation or bond disappearance. The author of the article distinguishes several criterions: interactivity, stability of membership, stability of identity, creation of norms and regulations, sociable attitudes of members, open communication. If we consider this criterions it is probable that man internet tools and services previously considered as virtual communities in fact are not communities. Through the use of community criterions on the internet researchers can now prove, not only guess, whether they are dealing with virtual community. Today many forms of internet communication are unfoundedly considered as community. The word community obligates. Unfortunately very few researchers notice this. They do not see the need to use new, more elear and sharper definitions and criterions of virtual communities. The article tries to deal with this situation.
